Brushed Stainless Steel Modern Art Sculpture Series

Brushed Stainless Steel Modern Art Sculpture Series

Combining a brushed stainless steel finish with a streamlined structure, this piece creates a modern art sculpture that embodies a sense of dynamic movement and architectural form, making it suitable for high-end interiors and urban landmarks.

Scenario Applications

  • Commercial settings: Office building plazas, corporate campuses, hotel lobbies, sales centers, etc.
  • Cultural & tourism settings: Cultural plazas, parks and scenic areas, campuses, exhibition halls, etc.
  • Private settings: Villa courtyards, private clubs, art galleries, etc.
  • Suitable environments: Open-air outdoors, indoor climate-controlled spaces, seaside/high-salinity environments (rust-resistant specifications), etc.
Process Details

  • A 1:1 scale model made of ABS plastic is produced using 3D printing technology; the surface is created by marking and cutting 3.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel plates, which are then forged—requiring 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—to achieve the desired curvature, followed by seamless welding and finishing. Flat steel sections are laser-cut based on patterns generated in Rhino software and then assembled. For the brushed finish, the sculpture undergoes an initial grinding process (80-grit) to smooth out weld seams and forging marks, followed by sequential sanding with 80, 120, and 320-grit abrasives to ensure a perfectly smooth surface. Finally, a wire-drawing wheel is used to apply a brushed texture that follows the sculpture’s contours (a process demanding exceptional skill and technique). Galvanized square steel tubing is installed internally—scaled to the sculpture’s size—to enhance wind and seismic resistance, and all weld joints receive anti-rust treatment.
Design Philosophy

  1. Infinite Loop
Centered on the imagery of a “circular flow,” the design employs a twisted metallic form to express the continuous circulation and extension of energy.
  2. Spatial Sculptural Language
Utilizing openwork and rotational structures, the sculpture reveals shifting formal relationships and visual tension when viewed from different angles.
  3. Aesthetics of Modern Order
The combination of mirrored metal and clean, simple curves reinforces the sense of ceremony at the building entrance and evokes the atmosphere of a high-end contemporary space.
