Modern Leaf Stainless Steel Sculpture Design

Modern Leaf Stainless Steel Sculpture Design

This leaf-inspired stainless steel sculpture features layered curved forms that create a sense of movement and lightness. The dark brushed finish enhances its architectural integration, making it suitable for building entrances, commercial plazas, and modern public spaces. It works as a visual centerpiece that connects architecture, light, and spatial flow in a unified design.

Scenario Applications

  • Commercial settings: Office building plazas, corporate campuses, hotel lobbies, sales centers, etc.
  • Cultural & tourism settings: Cultural plazas, parks and scenic areas, campuses, exhibition halls, etc.
  • Private settings: Villa courtyards, private clubs, art galleries, etc.
  • Suitable environments: Open-air outdoors, indoor climate-controlled spaces, seaside/high-salinity environments (rust-resistant specifications), etc.
Process Details

  • A 1:1 scale model made of ABS plastic is produced using 3D printing technology. For the sculpture’s surface, 2.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel sheets are used; these are cut based on layout lines marked on the model and shaped into the required curvature through manual forging—involving approximately 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—followed by assembly and spot welding. Flat sections are precision-cut via laser based on Rhino software designs and then assembled. The finishing process begins with grinding down weld seams and forging marks using 80-grit abrasives, followed by progressive sanding with 120- to 320-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth, even surface. The coating sequence is as follows: first, an epoxy zinc-rich primer; second, application of high-temperature automotive body filler (putty) sanded smooth with 400-grit sandpaper; third, another layer of epoxy zinc-rich primer; fourth, application of a two-component colored topcoat; and fifth, a protective glaze/sealer finish. Finally, the sculpture is oven-baked at temperatures between 100°C and 180°C for 80 minutes.
Design Philosophy

  1. Flowing Leaf Structure
    The layered curved blades are inspired by natural leaf movement, creating a sense of growth and upward motion in space.
  2. Brushed Stainless Finish
    The dark metallic surface enhances depth and texture while harmonizing with modern architectural materials.
  3. Architectural Integration Focus
    Designed to sit in front of buildings as a spatial focal point, connecting sculpture with entrance architecture and surrounding environment.
Transport and Installation

  • Protective Packaging: Reinforced wooden crates with EPE foam padding on all edges and corners to prevent impact and scratches;large sculptures can be disassembled for packaging;
  • Logistics Options: Sea, air, and land transport available; supports both FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments;
  • Installation Support: Includes embedded base, expansion anchor bolts, and leveling accessories; comprehensive printed installation diagrams provided;
  • Ancillary Services: On-site installation teams available; free replacement of repair materials for transit damage; shipping insurance coverage available.
Customization Time

  • Drawing approval period: 3–5 working days;
  • Main forging production: 10–20 days (depending on sculpture size);
  • Surface finishing and quality inspection: 3–7 days;
  • Packaging and preparation: 2 days;
  • Value-added service: Production time for rush orders can be shortened for a small additional fee.
