Decorative Sculpture: An Orange Loop Drawn in Steel
Decorative sculpture becomes a continuous gesture in this orange stainless steel loop, whose curves fold inward and rise again in an open, balanced form. The uninterrupted silhouette suggests motion without prescribing one interpretation: it may recall a ribbon, an orbit, or a line drawn through space. As an outdoor sculpture, its saturated color gives the form clarity, while shifting openings reveal new compositions from each viewpoint.
The decorative sculpture is shaped from 2.0 mm 304 stainless steel through laser cutting, manual forging, and welded assembly. A five-stage coating system builds the orange surface over the prepared metal, followed by oven curing for an even finish. This combination allows the outdoor sculpture to retain the softness of a hand-formed curve while preserving the structural discipline required by its continuous loop.
 | Scenario Applications- Commercial settings: Office building plazas, corporate campuses, hotel lobbies, sales centers, etc.
- Cultural & tourism settings: Cultural plazas, parks and scenic areas, campuses, exhibition halls, etc.
- Private settings: Villa courtyards, private clubs, art galleries, etc.
- Suitable environments: Open-air outdoors, indoor climate-controlled spaces, seaside/high-salinity environments (rust-resistant specifications), etc.

 | Process Details- A 1:1 scale model made of ABS plastic is produced using 3D printing technology. For the sculpture’s surface, 2.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel sheets are used; these are cut based on layout lines marked on the model and shaped into the required curvature through manual forging—involving approximately 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—followed by assembly and spot welding. Flat sections are precision-cut via laser based on Rhino software designs and then assembled. The finishing process begins with grinding down weld seams and forging marks using 80-grit abrasives, followed by progressive sanding with 120- to 320-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth, even surface. The coating sequence is as follows: first, an epoxy zinc-rich primer; second, application of high-temperature automotive body filler (putty) sanded smooth with 400-grit sandpaper; third, another layer of epoxy zinc-rich primer; fourth, application of a two-component colored topcoat; and fifth, a protective glaze/sealer finish. Finally, the sculpture is oven-baked at temperatures between 100°C and 180°C for 80 minutes.

 | Design Philosophy- Continuous Ring Form
The looped structure creates a sense of infinity and movement, allowing viewers to experience different visual effects from every angle. - Painted Metal Surface
The orange painted finish enhances visibility in outdoor environments while providing durability against weather conditions. - Public Space Focal Point
Designed as a landmark sculpture, it strengthens spatial identity in plazas, campuses, and urban landscapes.

Bold in color but restrained in geometry, this decorative sculpture turns a single continuous loop into an experience of balance, tension, and release. Its forged stainless steel body and carefully built coating system give the outdoor sculpture a durable physical presence without diminishing the lightness of its drawn, almost calligraphic form.
At Wenhua Sculpture, every project begins with an idea and the place it is meant to inhabit. We translate that vision into a custom sculpture shaped by the right scale, material, finish, and relationship to its surroundings. From design development and fabrication to quality control, packaging, delivery, and installation planning, each stage is coordinated with precision and care. Contact us to discuss your concept and project requirements, and let us bring your vision into lasting form—distinctive in presence, resolved in detail, and made for its setting.
