Artistic Sculpture: Interlocking Ribbons Held in Tension

Artistic sculpture finds its language in tension and connection here: ribbons of warm brown steel curl, overlap, and pass through one another without a fixed front or back. The openings between them are as important as the solid surfaces, breaking the mass into shifting frames of light and shadow. Although the metal sculpture carries substantial physical weight, its interlocking curves create the impression of a form still unfolding.

Formed from 2.0 mm 304 stainless steel, the artistic sculpture combines manual forging, welded assembly, careful grinding, and a layered painted finish. Approximately 3,000 hammer strikes are used to shape each square metre before the surface is refined and coated. This disciplined fabrication allows the metal sculpture to preserve crisp structural relationships while maintaining the natural cadence of a freely moving ribbon.
