Artistic Sculpture: Interlocking Ribbons Held in Tension

Artistic sculpture finds its language in tension and connection here: ribbons of warm brown steel curl, overlap, and pass through one another without a fixed front or back. The openings between them are as important as the solid surfaces, breaking the mass into shifting frames of light and shadow. Although the metal sculpture carries substantial physical weight, its interlocking curves create the impression of a form still unfolding.

Formed from 2.0 mm 304 stainless steel, the artistic sculpture combines manual forging, welded assembly, careful grinding, and a layered painted finish. Approximately 3,000 hammer strikes are used to shape each square metre before the surface is refined and coated. This disciplined fabrication allows the metal sculpture to preserve crisp structural relationships while maintaining the natural cadence of a freely moving ribbon.

	처리 세부 정보 ABS 플라스틱으로 제작된 1:1 규모의 모형은 3D 프린팅 기술을 사용하여 제작됩니다. 조각의 표면은 2.0mm 두께의 304 스테인리스 스틸 시트를 사용합니다. 이 시트는 모델에 표시된 배치 라인에 따라 절단되고 수작업으로 가공하여 필요한 곡률을 형성합니다. 이 과정에는 약 3,000회의 망치 타격이 필요하며, 이는 제곱미터당 약 1200회의 망치 타격이 필요합니다. 이어 조립과 스폿 용접이 이루어집니다. 평면부는 라노이 소프트웨어 설계에 따라 레이저 기반으로 정밀하게 절단된 후 수작업으로 가공됩니다. 마무리 공정은 용접 실을 깎아내고 80 그릿의 연마재를 사용하여 마크를 가공하는 단계부터 시작됩니다. 이어 400 그릿의 연마재를 사용하여 부드럽고 매끄러운 표면을 얻기 위해 120 그릿부터 320 그릿의 연마재를 사용한 단계까지 점진적인 연마가 진행됩니다. 코팅 과정은 다음과 같습니다: 먼저 에폭시 아연 함유 프리머; 두 번째, 고온 자동차 바디 필러(포티)를 적용하여 부드럽게 연마한 후 400 그릿의 연마재를 사용한 단계; 세 번째, 에폭시 아연 함유 프리머; 네 번째, 2중 색상 코팅; 그리고 마지막으로 보호막 및 실리콘 코팅입니다. 마지막으로 조각품은 100°C에서 180°C 사이의 온도에서 80분 동안 오븐에서 구워집니다.
