A blue-green patina gives the bronze sculpture weathered depth and responds naturally to the shifting surface below.<\/p>\n<p>The sculpture begins as a full-scale model and is translated through lost-wax casting, preserving the tapered profiles and softly modeled transitions of each bird. De oppervlakte wordt geschuurd (met een papier van 80 tot 120 korrelgrootte) en afgewerkt met een hittepatineerproces waarbij specifieke chemische combinaties worden gebruikt om de gewenste kleuren te bereiken; vervolgens wordt een beschermende glazuurlaag aangebracht.
