De oppervlakte wordt geschuurd (met een papier van 80 tot 120 korrelgrootte) en afgewerkt met een hittepatineerproces waarbij specifieke chemische combinaties worden gebruikt om de gewenste kleuren te bereiken; vervolgens wordt een beschermende glazuurlaag aangebracht.
