Oversized Sculpture: A Mirrored Circle Shaped by Water
Oversized sculpture changes the scale of a simple circle until it becomes something architectural. A broad stainless steel ring rises from the ground with a twist, framing open sky and distant surroundings within its mirrored edge. Water descends through the center rather than sitting beside the form, giving the custom sculpture a sense of motion that contrasts with the calm certainty of its geometry.
The circle has no obvious beginning or end, yet the shifting reflections ensure that the work never feels fixed. From one angle, the oversized sculpture appears almost weightless; from another, its reflective band becomes a substantial metallic arc. Developed as a custom sculpture, the proportions, water flow, and relationship between solid structure and open center can be calibrated without weakening the clarity of the original ring.
 | Scenario Applications- Commercial settings: Office building plazas, corporate campuses, hotel lobbies, sales centers, etc.
- Cultural & tourism settings: Cultural plazas, parks and scenic areas, campuses, exhibition halls, etc.
- Private settings: Villa courtyards, private clubs, art galleries, etc.
- Suitable environments: Open-air outdoors, indoor climate-controlled spaces, seaside/high-salinity environments (rust-resistant specifications), etc.

 | Process Details- A 1:1 scale model is first produced from ABS material using 3D printing technology. For the sculpture’s surface, 2.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel sheets are marked and cut based on the model; the metal is then shaped through manual forging—involving approximately 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—followed by seamless welding of the sections. Flat steel components are precision-cut via laser based on Rhino software designs and assembled. The subsequent mirror-polishing process begins with grinding down weld seams and forging marks using 80-grit sandpaper, followed by progressive smoothing with sandpaper grits of 120, 320, 600, 800, 1200, and 2000. A sisal wheel with purple polishing compound removes initial grinding marks, followed by a wool wheel to eliminate marks left by the sisal wheel. Finally, a cloth wheel with green and white polishing compounds is used for the finishing polish to achieve a mirror-like surface. Internally, a galvanized square-tube framework is installed to match the sculpture’s dimensions, enhancing wind and seismic resistance, with anti-rust treatment applied to all weld joints.
- The outdoor sculptures utilize 24V low-voltage LED light sources, eliminating the risk of electric shock. Advanced power supply and control systems enable the lighting to synchronize with the rhythm of the music, producing color-changing and flashing effects.
- Calculate the drainage volume and head, and use a high-quality, reputable brand 304 stainless steel submersible pump to achieve stable water supply and pressure.

 | Design Philosophy- Continuity in Form
The continuous loop structure represents infinity and connection. It brings a calm but strong visual rhythm to open public spaces. - Light Reflection Effect
Mirror-polished stainless steel captures surroundings and sky. The sculpture changes appearance depending on time, weather, and viewing angle. - Spatial Interaction
The open circular shape allows people to view and walk around it easily. It becomes part of the landscape instead of just an object.

By turning a single ring into a frame for water, reflection, and open space, this oversized sculpture achieves monumentality without visual heaviness. The custom sculpture remains clear in concept yet responsive in appearance, allowing its mirrored surface and moving water to continuously redraw the boundary between artwork and surroundings.
At Wenhua Sculpture, every project begins with an idea and the place it is meant to inhabit. We translate that vision into a custom sculpture shaped by the right scale, material, finish, and relationship to its surroundings. From design development and fabrication to quality control, packaging, delivery, and installation planning, each stage is coordinated with precision and care. Contact us to discuss your concept and project requirements, and let us bring your vision into lasting form—distinctive in presence, resolved in detail, and made for its setting.
