	Details van het proces Een model in schaal 1:1 van ABS-plastic wordt geproduceerd met behulp van 3D-printtechnologie. Voor het oppervlak van het beeld is een 304-staalplaat met een dikte van 2,0 mm gebruikt; deze wordt gesneden op basis van de op de modeltekening aangegeven lay-outlijnen en geformeerd tot de gewenste kromming door handmatige smederij – waarbij ongeveer 3.000 hamerslag per vierkante meter nodig zijn – gevolgd door montage en puntlassen. Platte delen worden met laser gesneden op basis van ontwerpen in de Rhino-software en vervolgens geassembleerd. Het afwerkproces begint met het afwerken van lasnaden en smederijsporen met schuurpapier van 80 grit, gevolgd door progressieve schuurwerk met schuurpapier van 120 tot 320 grit om een gladde, gelijkmatige oppervlakte te bereiken. De coatingprocedure is als volgt: eerst een epoxyzinkrijke primer; vervolgens de aanbreng van een hoogwaardige automotive bodyfiller (putty) met een dikte van 2,0 mm; vervolgens een tweede laag epoxyzinkrijke primer; vervolgens een tweecomponentenkleurige topcoat; en ten slotte een beschermende glaze/sealer. Tenslotte wordt de sculptuur 80 minuten in een oven gebakken bij temperaturen tussen 100°C en 180°C.
