This large garden sculpture grows from a concentrated base into several rising trunks before expanding into three broad crown groups. Each canopy is constructed from an open network of curved members rather than a solid surface, allowing the sculpture to occupy a substantial volume without blocking light, views, or movement through the courtyard.
The branching lines become finer as they extend outward, recalling leaf veins while maintaining a clearly engineered geometry. A vivid red coating separates the stainless steel sculpture from the surrounding façades and makes its silhouette legible across the plaza. | Details van het proces- Fabrication of the large garden sculpture begins with approved digital geometry and a 1:1 ABS reference model used to verify trunk transitions, crown spread, sectional alignment, and connection points. Rhino-developed patterns are transferred to 2.0 mm 304 stainless steel, cut, hand-formed, assembled, and welded into the branching structure.
- Weld seams and forming marks are refined with 80-, 120-, and 320-grit abrasives. The five-stage coating system comprises epoxy zinc-rich primer, high-temperature body filler sanded with 400-grit abrasive, a second primer application, a two-component colored topcoat, and a protective sealer. The finished stainless steel sculpture is oven-cured at 100–180°C for 80 minutes. Before release, the large garden sculpture is inspected for crown alignment, coating continuity, structural connections, and base accuracy.
