Stainless Steel Water-Flow Light Sculpture

Stainless Steel Water-Flow Light Sculpture

A stainless steel water feature sculpture combined with flowing light design, created by Wenhua Sculpture. The circular twisting form works as both a fountain and illuminated landscape centerpiece. Suitable for parks, plazas, and commercial outdoor spaces. Size, lighting effects, and structure can be fully customized for different projects.

Scenario Applications

  • Commercial settings: Office building plazas, corporate campuses, hotel lobbies, sales centers, etc.
  • Cultural & tourism settings: Cultural plazas, parks and scenic areas, campuses, exhibition halls, etc.
  • Private settings: Villa courtyards, private clubs, art galleries, etc.
  • Suitable environments: Open-air outdoors, indoor climate-controlled spaces, seaside/high-salinity environments (rust-resistant specifications), etc.
Process Details

  • A 1:1 scale model is first produced from ABS material using 3D printing technology. For the sculpture’s surface, 2.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel sheets are marked and cut based on the model; the metal is then shaped through manual forging—involving approximately 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—followed by seamless welding of the sections. Flat steel components are precision-cut via laser based on Rhino software designs and assembled. The subsequent mirror-polishing process begins with grinding down weld seams and forging marks using 80-grit sandpaper, followed by progressive smoothing with sandpaper grits of 120, 320, 600, 800, 1200, and 2000. A sisal wheel with purple polishing compound is used to remove initial grinding marks, followed by a wool wheel to eliminate marks left by the sisal wheel. Finally, a cloth wheel with green and white polishing compounds is used for the finishing polish to achieve a mirror-like surface. Internally, a galvanized square-tube framework is installed to match the sculpture’s dimensions, enhancing wind and seismic resistance, with anti-rust treatment applied to all weld joints.
  • Lighting: All outdoor sculptures use 24-volt low-voltage LED light sources, eliminating the possibility of electric shock. The lights employ advanced power control and can change color and flash in sync with the music.
  • Water Flow: With carefully calculated drainage volume and head, high-quality, reputable brand 304 stainless steel submersible pumps are used to achieve stable water pressure and flow.
Design Philosophy

  1. A Fusion of Light and Water
    A visual focal point is created by combining a flowing water curtain with a circular metal structure, expressing the symbiotic relationship between natural energy and man-made order.
  2. Dynamic Sculptural Experience
    The interplay between the cascading water and the circular structure allows the sculpture to continuously transform while in motion, creating a form of “temporal art” meant to be experienced over time.
  3. A Nighttime Landmark
    Integrated lighting combined with the water curtain creates a luminous waterfall effect at night, enhancing the sense of occasion and memorability of the public space.
Transport and Installation

  • Protective Packaging: Reinforced wooden crates with EPE foam padding on all edges and corners to prevent impact and scratches;large sculptures can be disassembled for packaging;
  • Logistics Options: Sea, air, and land transport available; supports both FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments;
  • Installation Support: Includes embedded base, expansion anchor bolts, and leveling accessories; comprehensive printed installation diagrams provided;
  • Ancillary Services: On-site installation teams available; free replacement of repair materials for transit damage; shipping insurance coverage available.
Customization Time

  • Drawing approval period: 3–5 working days;
  • Main forging production: 10–20 days (depending on sculpture size);
  • Surface finishing and quality inspection: 3–7 days;
  • Packaging and preparation: 2 days;
  • Value-added service: Production time for rush orders can be shortened for a small additional fee.
