This female sculpture centers on the relationship between a seated woman and a smaller figure held within a shared horizontal movement. Her torso remains upright while her arms and extended legs reach forward, forming a stable visual platform beneath the airborne figure. The composition captures a precise instant between support and release, suggesting care without turning the scene into a literal narrative.
Long hair streams backward from the woman’s head, counterbalancing the forward motion of her limbs and the smaller body above them. Broad reflective surfaces narrow into ribbon-like edges, allowing the stainless steel sculpture to move between recognizable anatomy and abstraction. As reflections travel across the curves, the female sculpture appears to stretch beyond its compact base, creating an impression of speed, trust, and weightlessness.

| Details van het proces- A 1:1 scale model is first produced from ABS material using 3D printing technology. For the sculpture’s surface, 2.0mm-thick 304 stainless steel sheets are marked and cut based on the model; the metal is then shaped through manual forging—involving approximately 3,000 hammer strikes per square meter—followed by seamless welding of the sections. Flat steel components are precision-cut via laser based on Rhino software designs and assembled. The subsequent mirror-polishing process begins with grinding down weld seams and forging marks using 80-grit sandpaper, followed by progressive smoothing with sandpaper grits of 120, 320, 600, 800, 1200, and 2000. A sisal wheel with purple polishing compound is used to remove initial grinding marks, followed by a wool wheel to eliminate marks left by the sisal wheel. Finally, a cloth wheel with green and white polishing compounds is used for the finishing polish to achieve a mirror-like surface. Internally, a galvanized square-tube framework is installed to match the sculpture’s dimensions, enhancing wind and seismic resistance, with anti-rust treatment applied to all weld joints.
